This campaign is a testament to the power of knowing an audience. The LWCA (Land and Water Conservation Act), which funds parks and public lands across the U.S., was being held up by Senators out to prove a political point during the lame duck session. Moreover, the public was largely unaware of what the LWCA even funded, so there was little backlash. Our Facebook, banner and print campaign targeted the Senators’ constituencies and geo-targeted their offices inside the Beltway. Not only did they pass the bill, one of the Senators, specifically mentioned being the campaign.
